In addition there is a near by lake called Pike Lake which was formed during the Ice age and has the oldest species of pike on the planet, dating back its origins to the ice age. These pikes look like something from a prehistoric museum and only exist in this one location. Yakutat also has the largest run if wild steelhead in the world, making it famous for steelhead fishing enthusiasts.
